Healing and Restoration

I am a mother of three children and I am so grateful to God for blessing me with this beautiful calling of being a mother to my children, to love, care and enjoy them and train them up in the way of the Lord.

We have created a book made up of 100 photographs and 100 precious promises of God on healing, restoration and new life. Jason, our oldest son took these photographs from our home garden, many gardens, parks and lakes he has visited. From his birth, Jason has faced many serious health challenges. His life thus far has recorded, again and again the miraculous interventions of the Almighty creator and God. Jason is 14 years old now and recently began to show a great love of photography. Through this book we hope to share our story and encourage you to trust God’s presence and His words for healing, deliverance and fullness of life walking closely with the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Our journey wasn’t an easy one because Jason and his twin brother Daniel were born premature and Jason had to undergo three open heart surgeries when he was a baby. Our attention was divided between the two boys and God gave me the faith, strength and courage. I am forever grateful for my husband, family and the body of Christ for their love support and prayers as they walked our life's journey with us.

Little did we know that my difficult journey had only just began. Through it all our hearts were always filled with faith, peace and unending joy, even when people around me were grieving and worrying about us, our hearts knew that our Father in heaven had it all under His control.

While waiting at the Sick Kids Hospital for each of the surgeries to be over, we were claiming Gods promises from the Bible that came alive to us in every challenging situation.

When our boys were 2 years old we saw a difference in their social behavior and doctors diagnosed them as having autism. Though we were shaken deeply, in our hearts we knew that there was nothing impossible with our God. We claimed and believed that our sons are perfect gifts given to us by our heavenly father James 1:17 We continued to praise our Lord Jesus for Jason and Daniel and continued speaking healing scriptures over them.

I must confess that I spent many days and months crying out to the Lord in prayer but far more were the days and the months when the Lord put into our hearts and mouths songs in the night and abounding joy in the morning.

We now see the fruit of our prayers, cries and dependency on God. The boys are now 14 years old and God's faithfulness is vividly written all over their lives. The boys who couldn’t say a single word are talking. The boys who couldn't make eye contact with us, have now made numerous friends at school. The boys the doctors said would not be able to do anything have accomplished more than what we could ask or imagine. Great is our Lord's faithfulness and awesome are His ways.

With our Lord Jesus nothing is impossible, and I want to encourage everyone who is struggling with sickness, depression and bondage to always remember the faithfulness of the Lord we serve. Our God is not only a giver of promises but also the keeper and fulfiller of promises.

Here are 5 things that helped us to trust God's word for healing and restoration of our children.

1. Stand on the Word of God

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” –Psalm 103:2-3

God’s Word is the channel that will give you strength for today and also get you to the place of fulfillment. If you are well, God’s Word will keep you well. If you are sick, it will heal you and then keep you well. God’s Word is the best medicine. But you must give it attention and treasure it. (Proverbs 4:20-23). Gods word is what will encourage, build you up and sustain your faith. Our children seeing us living out our faith also became spontaneously carriers of faith.

Be diligent about keeping God’s Word in your heart. Continually read it, listen to it, think about it, talk about it. It will be health to your body and (giving you life) and marrow to your bones (building up your immunity) Proverbs 3:8.

2. Don’t Let Symptoms Talk to You

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body.” –Romans 4:19

This sentence is a reference to our forefather. Abraham would not allow His aging body (99 years) to distrust Gods promise that He would have a son. Abraham became a father to all who put their faith in God and His promises. So friends how tightly do you hold on to Gods promises for your healing.

It won’t always be easy. You must live a lifestyle of faith in God and His promises. You have to hold fast to it and fight the good fight of faith. But don’t let that scare you. Remember its a fight where the victory is guaranteed. The victory is certain because the Lord Jesus Christ won it all through His suffering and death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave some 2000 years ago.

He takes your weakness and gives you His strength. He takes your sin and gives you His righteousness. He takes your sickness and gives you His wholesomeness. He takes every negativity and defeat and gives you victory.

3. Let Go of Doubt

“And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.” –Matthew 13:58

The only record of anything hindering the Lord Jesus from accomplishing the will of God to heal those who kept faith in God occurred in Nazareth. He could do no mighty works that place because of their unbelief. Unbelief will leave you in your sicknesses. Dependency on the Word of God defeats unbelief. When a person receives the Word, doubt, defeat and discouragement have to leave. So, don’t hang on to any doubt or unbelief. Don’t even dwell on it for a moment. Let the Word of God drive it out. Your life depends on it.

Remember, doubt also comes by hearing unbelief, so be careful of who you are listening to and God works primarily through faith. So speak words of life from the word of God over your situations.

4. Cast Your Cares on the Lord

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”—1 Peter 5:7

God loves you with an everlasting love. He wants you hand over every care, worry and anxiety to Him. He’s the One who can deal with it properly! As long as you are holding onto the care of your sickness, you are taking ownership of it, and the Bible says when you do so, you’re failing to humble yourself before God (1 Peter 5:6).

5. Never Let Go

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.” –Hebrews 10:23

Then, having done all to stand, stand until your healing is fully realized. Hold your ground. Don’t waver. James 1:6-8 tells us that one who wavers and doesn’t stand strong is unstable and double-minded, and won’t receive from God.

Remember this: “He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word]…. you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised” (Hebrews 10:23, 36).

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. John 4:23

I was taught to worship God by my father in action and his lifestyle. In our house, we had scripture verses on every wall in the living room and gospel music playing during the day. He played his guitar and taught us to worship the God he loved. My dad is in heaven now but in God's presence worshiping the God he loves.
